values led design

Manchester Museum

Manchester Museum completed its exciting transformation with the Hello Future project. As part of this ambitious journey, our team at the Artistry House, in collaboration with Wilson Mason Architects, brought a values-driven approach to designing key non-gallery spaces. Each space was carefully crafted to create the right atmosphere for different needs, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

From the start, the museum was passionate about ensuring the design stayed true to its brand ethos, with a strong focus on inclusivity and sustainability. To bring this vision to life, we began with in-depth design research and market exploration, followed by a series of workshops that brought together the internal team and the wider community. This collaborative process made sure every design decision reflected these core values.

The goal was to create a seamless visual story across these key spaces, balancing eye-catching feature pieces with thoughtful functionality, visitor flow, and experience. The design needed to feel welcoming, sustainable, and inclusive, all while enhancing key areas such as:

Entrance area, museum shop, main hall, prayer space, picnic area, pop-up café and museum café

By carefully considering the needs of every visitor, we helped shape spaces that feel both engaging and accessible to all.
